Alex Phelan

Alex has been a Print-On-Demand evangelist since early 2013 when he was on the founding team of Teespring, a platform that pioneered social commerce with custom products. When he realized the screen-printing technology could not support Teespring’s growth trajectory he in-sourced printing and fulfillment by opening the largest Direct-To-Garment printing and fulfillment operation in the United States at its time and leading the implementation of Teespring’s proprietary order fulfillment workflow systems.

He left Teespring in 2017 to co-invent a new Direct-To-Garment digital textile printing system called OvalJet in Orange County, CA, a textile sourcing and decorating hub for the US market. After leading product development for 3 years, Alex and 240 Tech launched the first commercial release of the OvalJet platform in mid-2019 and sold and implemented 15+ systems across the United States. It is currently the fastest closed-loop fully digital Direct-To-Garment system in the world.

He created a bespoke eComm POD agency for enterprise clients called Merchadise in 2020. Merchadise uses specialized DTF printing, cut & sew dye sublimation and embroidery to create high end POD merch stores for established brands like Special Olympics, Sesame Street and many others.

Alex’s latest venture, Tri-POD is the ultimate ecosystem for branded merch. It combines a fully white labelable eComm & POD platform with an integrated factory network that all use the same DTF printers and inks as well as integrated services around store creation, merchandising and product design.
